Wow, what can I say that you probably haven’t already heard from your millions of adoring fans around the world? LOL You and your music have been one of the few constant sources of happiness in my life. Through dark times, you have been like a beautiful shining beacon of light and hope. We share a similar past and your example has been an absolute inspiration to me. When I’m feeling hopeless, your voice gives me peace and understanding. When I’m feeling discouraged, your words help me find the strength I need to press on. When I’m feeling lost, your music gives me faith and all my troubles melt away. Most importantly, when I needed somebody, you and your music were there. I am beyond grateful for what you’ve given me and I feel forever indebted to you. It would be impossible for me to pick only one song from your extraordinary collection of work and call it my favorite, but I feel especially close to “Close My Eyes.” The words truly could’ve come straight from my diary. It’s the song that has carried me through every difficult situation in my life. There are so many reasons to celebrate this day... Of course, we celebrate your music and that astonishing voice. Through your music and your spirit, you have inspired me in more ways than you could ever know. "I was a wayward child with the weight of the world that I held deep inside" back in 1994 when I first heard "Hero" and that song could not have come at a better time and literally saved my life. "And though time's rolled by," whenever I have a moment when I'm feeling down or low, I "close my eyes" and turn to your songs and they help to rejuvinate me. "Close My Eyes" has been my theme song since the very first time I heard it. It may have different meanings to the both of us but I feel that it describes my transition from childhood to adult life perfectly. Thank you for sharing the gift of your music! I've always connected to your music for some reason. I'm 21 but I've been a fan since I first heard "Fantasy". And I've liked your music ever since. I have all your albums NOT becuase I am your biggest (craziest) fan and am obsessed, but because I truly want to support you so you can continue to make timeless/trendsetting music. It's been an amazing year, "Memoirs" was for sure a SGSHW and one of your best albums, even though if i'm honest theres not one song of yours i don't love! In every moments of my life I turn to you, your music, your experiences etc and I always find the comformt, understanding and laughter that I need. No one else could ever compare.
